Just like everything else you do, when you start marketing your practice online, you need to have a goal. This is one of the most common problems of dentists; they are all too eager to have a dental website and yet when you ask them what they expect to get out of it, they’ll say something vague like ‘having online presence’. However, if you really want to make the most out of your dental website, you should be gunning for specific results which are measurable.
So what is your goal?
Your goal, above everything else, should be to get prospects out of your dental website. This goal is something which is both specific and easy to measure. In fact, you can simply take note of the number of calls and inquiries you’ve received from before and after you’ve launched your dental website. However, if you really want to get the most out of your dental website, then be prepared to make the necessary changes. Here are some of the things that must be found in your dental site:
Your contact number. For something which is extremely important, this is one thing which is often missing from dental websites or at least hidden in the any pages of your site. Although people have moved away from the yellow pages, it’s still very likely that prospects would first contact via landline. And while you might have convinced your patients that you’re the best dentist within a 50-mile radius of their home, if they cannot find your office phone number after 15 minutes of a seemingly futile search, they’ll settle for the second best. Your solution? Place your office’s phone number on every page of your dental website and make sure that the numbers are large and conspicuous enough to be easily seen.
Your location. On top of the contact number, the second thing which your prospects will be on the look-out for is your location. Doubtless, you would mention your brick-and-mortar address in some page of your dental website. However, if you really want to capture prospects and convert them into paying patients, then you need to up the ante. You do that by posting a map which visually shows where your office is located. Not only does posting a map make it easy for your prospects to locate your office but it also acts as a banner to gain the attention of individuals viewing your site.
